Merry Christmas

Yea, we know Christmas is over, but we just couldn't resist this picture of our manager Adam Daywalt's chocolate Lab "Fancy" shortly after opening all of her Christmas Day presents. Remind you of someone?

Hi Folks,

Well, here we are beginning another New Year. Considering the alternative this is good. Really good.

You know, there's something about starting a new year that drives us to try harder to accomplish what we may have given up on the year before. Call it a fresh beginning or just a simple reset for the best intentions of 2011 that didn't quite get done.

I'm not going to bore you with a list of what I need to work on in 2012. I do have my list. I'll bet you have one as well. My problem is I'm not sure this is such a great idea, for you or for me. Seems that a "to do" list for 2012 sort of dampens all the good stuff that we should be celebrating that happened in 2011. Rather than kick back and smugly acknowledge the things that went well this last year, we, as typical human beings, feel the need to resolve those disappointments of 2011 during the year ahead. And we simply cast aside and forget about all the good stuff from the year before.

All this last week every newspaper, TV show, and many web sites made an effort to summarize 2011 and the events that were noteworthy over the last 12 months. Most were bad things that happened. I guess we learn a lot through experience, perhaps more bad than good. The end of the year is a great time to take stock of just what we learned over the last 12 months and perhaps make adjustments when necessary. But in doing this don't we risk casting aside all the good stuff from 2011?

How many of us made it through 2011 with good health and the love of our family and friends? How many still have an interesting and challenging job? How many of us are proud parents of wonderful children (or grandchildren)? How many had one or more "special moments" in 2011? As much as the beginning of the new year is a logical time for recommitting to some goals or improvements, don't let this keep you from appreciating all the good stuff that happened in 2011.

Now I know there are some of you who have had a rough or even terrible 2011. But I also suspect that most of you had a wonderful year. I know Dixie and I did. We spent time with our 7 grandkids and our 3 daughters and son-in-laws over the recent holidays, we went to the Cayman Islands for our youngest daughter and her husband's 5th anniversary along with our entire family and grandkids last May. We had a fairly mild summer in a part of the country known for oppressive, sweltering summers, and we both lost some weight (amazingly). We also enjoyed some wonderful times with many of our friends and were able to see a lot of good things happen to many friends and customers. And American Legacy Fishing's touring pro, Jacob Wheeler, won the FLW American Classic Tournament (and $100,000) in 2011. Yep, it was a great year!

But one of the best things to happen to us in 2011 was we were able to add many, many new fellow anglers to our list of friends met through American Legacy Fishing. Whether meeting new friends while traveling, testing the latest tackle, or simply trying to assist someone in our store, 2011 was a spectacular year. Many, many more fellow fishing enthusiasts became friends in 2011 than in any previous year. That alone would make 2011 a simply wonderful year for both of us.

So, what does this have to do with fishing? Well, fishing makes both Dixie and I happy. We enjoy getting outside and being on the water and experiencing nature. We enjoy the challenge of trying to outsmart various species of fish. We like using different gear and techniques in different locations. Fishing supplies us with an abundance of good memories we can carry with us well into 2012 and beyond. There are always new (or renewed) goals as well as very fond memories. Best of all, we can pass on our experiences (and hopefully some degree of expertise) to our grandkids as well as other youngsters who we support through our ALFC outreach locally. As I have said many times, fishing is a great character builder and something every kid should be exposed to. We take this mission very seriously and expect 2012 to see even more effort on our part in making sure this happens for many local kids.

Do we have any "New Year Resolutions? Yes we do. We want to be better Christians and find time to help others more. We want to meet more of you personally and hopefully even spend some time on the water with some of you. We want to try and make our community, our state, and our country a better place. Fishing-wise we're still after our "trophy" fish: A 10 lb largemouth bass. A 20 lb northern pike. A 6 lb smallmouth. A 20 lb lake trout. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) these are the same goals we had for 2011! But even if we didn't achieve any of these goals (or "thresholds" as Dixie likes to say) we sure had a great time trying! Maybe 2012 will see some of these goals come to fruition!

You know, it's as much the journey as the destination. It's enjoying the ride as much as it is getting from point "A" to point "B". And that's our most important resolution for 2012. We resolve to stop and smell the roses more. To tell more people we love them. To not just be sympathetic to other's adversity, but to try and help in some small way.

So when you're thinking about those New Year resolutions don't forget the best of 2011 along with the optimism of 2012. The beginning of the New Year is naturally a way to start with a clean slate. We have an entire year in front of us and so much potential. Who doesn't get excited at such a fantastic prospect?

This is our first newsletter of 2012, so we figured we would start the year off with a Great Deal Saving YOU some money as well as some great new products that are just now showing up. Plus, we have a super duper fishing line we're introducing and lots more "good stuff" in this first newsletter of 2012. Be sure to take a look below at all the "good stuff".

We hope everyone had a great holiday season. We know we did and really appreciate your friendship and patronage throughout 2011. We promise that 2012 will be the best year ever for all of our friends and customers. We have a lot of new products coming on line and are sure you'll be as excited about these as we are. Stay tuned for information in upcoming newsletters.

We wish all of you a most prosperous and healthy 2012!

Tight lines,

Tom Ashby

CORE100MG7

Shimano CORE 100Mg7's are HERE!.........................

Fishing Frogs, Alabama Rigs, Ripping, Flipping or Big Swimbaits? Looking for a reel that will last and preform without the typical problems you've had when using these baits or techniques? Think we might have a suggestion? You bettcha'! The NEW CORE100Mg7. These bad boys just showed up this week and they are B-A-D. In a G-O-O-D way, of course. Many of you have asked for a 7.0:1 retrieve ratio in this "oh so light" premium low profile made-in-Japan reel. Well, Shimano listened and actually made some improvements in this model over the "standard" CORE 50's and 100's to accommodate the toughest fishing techniques and baits.

First improvement is a larger HEG forged brass drive gear. This is more durable gearing and necessary when moving from a 6.3:1 to the 7.0:1 retrieve using the above techniques. More "guts" for those tough applications. Add to this the new, lighter Magnumlite (who thinks up these names?) spool, superfree bearings, and longer handle/power grip and you have a reel that will handle even the heaviest, toughest applications.

Specs are: 30 in. line retrieve per revolution, 10/110, 12/90 line capacity, 11 lb drag (max), 5 bearings, 6.7 oz weight. Only 100 of these New CORE100Mg7 reels were available from Shimano and we took a bunch of those, so for now supplies are limited. Price is $399.99 and the reel is only available in right hand retrieve. Like we said, if you fish flipping, ripping, swimbait, Alabama (umbrella) rigs, or Frogs this reel is for you. It doesn't get any better than this!

SUNLINE REACTION FC

Introducing Sunline Reaction FC Fluorocarbon Line that STRETCHES!...............

We have been trying to get our hands on this stuff for OVER 6 MONTHS! It's so hot in Japan that it has been backordered to us USA folks forever. Well, we pulled some strings, did some intense begging, and cajouled our way into a small supply of Fishing's HOTTEST Line.

We are absolutely convinced this Line will revolutionize fishing. It's truly a product where we said, "What took them so long?" The big problem with fluoro lines, in our mind , has always been that you trade line durability for no stretch. And stretch is actually GOOD. Especially when fishing reaction baits such as cranks, spinners, buzzers, etc. Without stretch you have a much greater risk of the fish coming off either at hook-set or when fighting. With some stretch the line actually compensates for some of these risks. Why do you think mono is still so popular?

This new Sunline Reaction FC line has the same softness, durability, and abrasion resistance as regular FC Sniper fluorocarbon line, but with 10% more stretch. Invisibility is increased with Sunline Reaction FC's grey/blue tint and it's high specific gravity (1.78 vs. water's 1.00) allows your bait to reach maximum depth sooner and deeper. Overall this is a product we have all be waiting for. Like we said, "What took them so long?"

Sunline Reaction FC Fluorocarbon line is available in 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 20 lb test in spools of 200 years each. Price is $22.99 We have every size IN STOCK and suggest you consider this remarkable line now while preparing your tackle for the spring fishing season. We can assure you this line will rock. Just be sure to troll it out (nothing on the end) after you put it on your reel for maximum performance! (Do this with ALL lines)

Please don't delay. When this shipment is done we have no idea when we will see another shipment from Japan.

LIVE TARGET FROG

Live Target "Baby Frogs" FINALLY In Stock.................

Does that headline sound a bit desperate? Well, it is with good reason. We've been trying to get these fantastic hollow frog "babies" from Live Target since they were introduced at ICAST Last July(!) and they have just now come in. And let me tell you, they are absolutely FANTASTIC!

Simply put, there is no better hollow frog lure on the market. They look real. Really real! At 1 3/4 inch long and weighing 1/4 oz. these little guys catch fish. If you're like some of us who believe small lures = big fish then these new smaller Live Target Frogs deserve a prominent place in your tackle box. There are 8 color choices and at $9.49 each we can guarantee you this will be one of the best investments you'll make this year in lures.

There's a reason why these won Best New Soft Bait at ICAST. Daiichi super sharp hooks, a super durable body, and perfect balance along with color so real you could scare little Sally all make this lure a "No Brainer" for any top water fisherman. Get em' while they're hot and we still have them in stock!

TRANX

Now Taking Orders On The Shimano TranX EXTREME BAD ASS Low Profile Reel.........

You can't hardly go to any credible fishing blog or tackle test web site that isn't all abuzz about this truly "Bad Ass" Low Profile "Big Fish" Reel called the Shimano TranX. If you're a musky fisherman or fish for other big, bad fish such as stripers, wahoo, steelhead, salmon, or any variety of other bad fish and have always wished you could find a more comfortable low profile casting reel then this, my friends, is your reel!

These reels are made tough as nails and will out perform many of the "round reels" so common (and at times cumbersome and uncomfortable) today. They are available in 6.6:1 and a 4.6:1 retrieve ratio and weigh in at about 20 oz., so don't think of them as dainty or something you'll use in Uncle Norm's farm pond. These guys are for fish with attitudes. Big fish that don't want to be caught!

Shimano TranX reels have a revolutionary design and shape that provides the comfort of low profile with the capacity of a conventional reel. Shimano TranX is offered in high gear (HG) and power gear (PG) models to cover a wide range of applications. Here are the details per Shimano:

X-Ship provides an extra smooth retrieve with superior durability; HEG - a larger drive gear and pinion gear increase cranking efficiency; SF - Superfree Bearing supported Pinion Gear eliminates friction with spool shaft for better freespool; E.I. Surface treatment on the spool protects against corrosion from saltwater soaked braided line; S A-RB coating protects bearings from rust in saltwater use; Super Stopper eliminates handle back play; VBS Brake System effectively reacts to spool rotation speed to provide ideal brake force at all times during cast; Dartainium II Drag Washer provides incredibly smooth drag performance with durability; and an Ergonomic Power Handle for better leverage.

There are two models:

TRX500HG has a 6.6:1 retrieve ratio, 43 in. line retrieve per crank, 25 lb Max Drag, 7 S-ARB Bearings and 1 Roller Bearing, 30/160 - 40/120 - 50/100 mono line capacity, 50/420 - 65/270 - 80/210 Power Pro braid line capacity. Price is $499.99

TRX500PG has a 4.6:1 retrieve ratio, 30 in. line retrieve per crank, 25 lb Max Drag, 7 S-ARB Bearings and 1 Roller Bearing, 30/160 - 40/120 - 50/100 mono line capacity, 50/420 - 65/270 - 80/210 Power Pro braid line capacity. We're guessing you could probably winch you car out of a ditch with this baby! Price is $499.99

Now we do not have these new reels in stock yet, but we have them listed on our web site where you can order them to make sure you get some of the very first reels that arrive which should be early March 2012. Pre-release buzz is that the Shimano TranX will be THE HOT REEL for 2012, so if you really want one of these bad boys order now to make sure you don't have to wait until Fall to get one. Do-It-Now.....please!

NRX GREEN

Just Introduced G. Loomis GREEN NRX Rods Rock and We Have Them All IN STOCK..............

We got a call the end of November from G. Loomis letting us know there is a NEW G. Loomis NRX rod. No, no new models, but a New Color. We would describe it as a deep Forest Green. Frankly, this is one good lookin' rod with matching green wraps and all of the same components as the Blue NRX rods. Now we really like the Blue NRX rods, but we have to tell you that these green NRX rods are just beautiful. Never thought we would say that, but simply put, they are.

Why a different color NRX? Hmmmm, good question. Rumor has it that the European market wasn't that receptive to the blue NRX's. Not sure why. Frankly, we thought the blue rods were distinctive and quite honestly, made them stand out and precipitated some serious "rod envy" from other fishermen. But, having said that these new Green NRX rods are damn good looking and sexy.

If you couple the new G. Loomis NRX Green Rods up with a 2011 or 2012 Shimano Curado they look like they were made for each other. Or, throw a Shimano Core (like a CORE100mg7) or Chronarch on one and you really have one awesome outfit. Now you have a choice when it comes to the World's Best Fishing Rod. Whatever color you decide on you can be sure that by choosing a G. Loomis NRX rod you are fishing with the very best. Lake blue or Sea Green it's your choice. Both colors are in stock and can ship the same day your order is received.

Iceberg afloat

Although not a picture of a fish, this IS a picture of fisherman retrieving their equipment after ice left shore and drifted out 3/4 of a mile on Lake Mille Lacs, Minnesota December 21, 2011. According to Charles Beardsley who's house is right across the street 12 people had to be rescued by boat and hovercraft.

Nice zander

Once again Gunther Van Ginneken shows us all how it's done with this nice winter zander (walleye) caught recently in Belgium. Gunther says it is COLD there. With your feet in the water - we guess so!

Monster bass

When Paul Elias went to a structure fishing class in Mississippi last month he showed everyone how it was done as evidenced by this trophy size largemouth. Awesome!

Nice fluke

Gunther Van Ginneken holds a rare place (we call them flounders or fluke here) caught recently while doing some winter fishing from his OutCast Float Tube. We'd call that perfect eating size!

Albino Musky

Bettcha' never seen one of these! Bob Bowman sends us this fascinating picture of an albino musky he caught recently using his G. Loomis NRX spinning rod. According to Steve Heiting of Musky Hunter Magazine only a few have ever been reported. Bravo, Bob!

Perfect fishing trip

What can you say? Peter Erio knows how to catch smallies! These two nice fish are just the tip of Peter's iceberg. How about over 600 smallies in 10 days! There were 19" and 18" fish and so, so many more. We'd call that the PERFECT fishing trip!

Beautiful snook

Scott Randall says when he traveled from California to the Florida keys on his "business trip" he managed to catch this nice 40" snook (released) using a hand tied bunny fly on his 10 wt fly rod. Scott, business travel is tough, but ya' just gotta' do it!

Great catch

Kamal Al Sultan shows of just one of many fish recently caught off Kuwait. From the looks of the boat and guys in it we'd say this is a serious effort. Now who gets to clean the fish?

7 1/2lb sebarau

Our good friend Ahmad Norzamzi Borhan from Malaysia sends us this marvelous picture of a 7 1/2 lb sebarau recently caught. Ahmad says this is one of the best freshwater game fish for all casters.

What a picture!

What can we say; this is why we fish.

Please, folks, send us some of your pictures. We're not after trophies, just pictures of fish you're proud of. It's easy. Just attached them to an email and send them to us at tashby@americanlegacyfishing.com and we'll do our best to get them in the newsletter. Send them in to us!

American Legacy Fishing Company - NEWS FLASH - December 11, 2011

This Issue: $15 - $75 Instant Savings, Shimano Curado $129.99, Christmas Story, Holiday Gift Guide, NRX Green Rods, Lots More...

Nice northern pike
Megan Hagel hooked, fought and landed this 5 lb Northern Pike in Sheridan Lake, South Dakota. After she caught it she said "I can't stop shaking. I thought I was going to faint. The flowers are so pretty" A little adrenalin goes a long way when your eight!

Hi Folks,

The other day I thought about my Christmas when I was 10 years old. To this day it is still pretty special. That Christmas I was disappointed but it was also one of my best Christmas's ever.

I was just a kid and had started fishing "seriously" about a year before. My Dad had done a good job of wetting the urge to fish and needless to say I was hooked (pun intended) pretty much from the time I was just a few years old, but by the time I was 9 fishing was an all consuming passion for me. We lived on a farm on the north side of town and whenever schedule and chores permitted I would be down at our 3 acre lake fishing for whatever would bite on worms, pieces of hot dogs, or whatever bait I could come up with.

At 9 years old casting artificials was somewhat of a leap for me, especially since I would have had to buy whatever I wanted to try with my own money. That along with finding a way to get to the local sporting goods store presented a substantial challenge. My Mom just didn't think investing in fishing lures was a very good choice for my meager allowance, especially when both her and Dad encouraged saving a substantial amount each week. Mom just didn't understand why worms or hot dogs or even left over pot roast (and carrots and potatoes) wouldn't suffice just fine. And fishing hooks were cheap. Of course, the more Mom and Dad discouraged me, the more I wanted some lures.

Then one day the following summer when I was 10 Dad gave me a couple of old beat up lures to "practice" with on our lake. Although I don't remember exactly what brand or model they were, I do remember Dad had used them in Wisconsin fishing for northern pike and they were at least 6 inches long. We often talk about "catch ratios' here in the store and there's no doubt in my mind that back then my "catch ratio" was pretty much doomed since our small lake held mostly bluegill, catfish, and some small largemouth bass. Those lures probably looked more like predators than food to those small fish!

Anyway, I set about learning how to cast those two lures and, if I do say so myself, became pretty good at placing the lure where I wanted it to go. My reel of choice, if you could call it that, was a second hand South Bend closed face spin casting reel, similar to a Zebco 33 but supposedly of a much better design and quality. Best I can recall my rod was an old used 5 or 6 ft casting rod Dad had "donated" to me along with the reel. Not a bad outfit and if I were entirely honest, not a bad choice for a casting beginner, especially one only 10 years old. If that outfit ended up in the lake then it would be no big loss. But it never did.

As that summer progressed my Dad realized I really enjoyed casting that old outfit, so he began "integrating" me into one of his 2 piece Heddon Pal Mark IV spinning rods and a Mitchell 300 open face spinning reel. Fair to say I took to that outfit like a fish takes to water. What a magnificent fishing machine! It was so smooth and the control so marvelous, even for a 10 year old kid such as myself. It was simply amazing. And soon enough Dad loaned me a few smaller lures that actually looked like baitfish to our prey! I actually started catching some bass out of our lake.

Soon the winds of Fall began blowing and my fishing became less frequent, as much due to school as the weather. But every chance I got I would grab Dad's loaned rod and reel and spend some time in quest of our lake's bass. Then one day Dad eluded to my fishing and that someday maybe I would get my own rod and reel. My mind immediately raced with thoughts of my very own 2 piece Heddon Pal Mark IV or, better yet, a Heddon Pal Mark V which I considered the pinnacle of fishing rods and definitely a rod that announced to all the world you had arrived as a true fisherMAN.

November came and went and soon Christmas was in my and my sister's thoughts daily. On occasion Mom or Dad would suggest we prepare a Christmas list which we were more than willing to do. Being away from town and not very close to any stores both of us would sit down and peruse the latest Sears Roebuck catalog that Mom and Dad had so graciously provided. Oh, so may toys and other good stuff in those 300 to 400 pages! Forget the clothes and even the toys. I went directly to the sporting goods, hoping to find the rod (and perhaps reel) I so desperately wanted. J. C. Higgins dominated. No Heddon, no Mitchell. Everything was manufactured for Sears and had their J. C. Higgins brand on it. Worse, nothing really appealed to my 10 year old mind other than Heddon and Mitchell fishing gear. Guess I better list some toys and other stuff.

I made out my list but made sure to add "Heddon Mark IV rod" and "Mitchell reel" as well. No model numbers, no catalog page, but what the heck, it was worth a try and I was sure Dad knew what I wanted. So it was a big surprise on Christmas morning when my sister and I came down the stairs to see what Santa had brought.

There, under the Christmas tree, was a long package just about the right length to fit a 2 piece Heddon rod in. "Oh boy", I thought. "This has to be 'it"!

There were several presents under the tree for me and sure enough, there was also a small, square box as well that I assumed would complete the fishing outfit that I was hoping for. The family tradition was that every person would open one gift at a time, each taking a turn in the rotation so we could all see what each got. Dad insisted Mom go first. I don't remember just what her gift was, but I didn't take long after she opened it for Dad to call out my sister's name and ask her to open a gift. Again, I don't remember her gift either.

I was up next and Dad handed me not the long package nor the square box, but a longer, rectangular box that was light and fairly big. It was a new jacket. Great. I'm a 10 year old kid and I'm already starting to get clothes for Christmas! Dad opened, then Mom opened again and so on. Finally my remaining gifts consisted of the big, long package and the small square one. I ripped open the long package first. What? It was a shotgun! A 410 shotgun. A J. C. Higgins 410 single shot shotgun. I was thrilled and at the same time a bit disappointed.

Finally it was time for my last package. The small square one. I opened it hoping it was a Mitchell reel, but apprehensive that there was a good chance it was something else. And it was. Once the gift wrap had been torn away I held a box of 410 shotgun shells in my hand. "Pretty neat, eh boy?", Dad said with no attempt to hide the pride he felt in seeing his son get his first shotgun. Now I could go hunting with him. Excellent.

"Yea, Dad, this is great!", I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster. Yes, I had put the shotgun on my Christmas gift, but only because I figured it would be something that Mom would immediately veto and Dad would have to accede to the much less dangerous Heddon rod and Mitchell reel. So much for a 10 year olds logic and reasoning.

Now don't think I wasn't ungrateful. It was indeed a wonderful Christmas and that little 410 J.C. Higgins shotgun was the beginning of many good times with Dad in the field. We hunted rabbit and squirrel and there are many memories that little gun provided over the years. It served as my first introduction to hunting and with Dad's help taught me gun skills that I still carry with me to this day. Even Mom seemed pleased that Santa had chosen such an adult gift for her young son.

And my Heddon Pal Mark IV rod and Mitchell 300 reel? Well, I didn't get the Heddon rod for several years as it was expensive and Dad felt that I needed to save some money and then share in the cost, which I did when I was 13. But I did get the Mitchell 300 reel a year after the shotgun and whatever rod we coupled it to worked well and fished with me in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Canada and of course, Indiana for many years. The shotgun? It was "retired" about 4 years later when I was given a 20 gauge by Dad.

My 10 year old Christmas was special and I still think fondly of it to this day. I remember Dad's pride in having given me that shotgun. And Mom's trust that I could actually be responsible with a shotgun in my hands. It was a Christmas of unexpected gifts that in a small way signaled that I was growing up. I was not only given my first really "adult" gift, but the bigger gift of my parents pride, trust, and acknowledgement that I was beginning my journey to becoming an adult. And that jacket. The "clothes gifts" had begun. Definitely I was coming of age.......

Brand New in-the-box Shimano 2011 Curado CU200E5 Made-in-Japan Reels for $129.99 - Holy Moly!...............

OK, we still have about 35 of these awesome Shimano Curado CU200E5 reels in stock. These are the same reel as the 2012 Shimano Chronarch reel that sells for $199.99 (these reels sold for $179.99) They're made in Japan and definitely the best Japanese reel on the market today for $179.99 Sooooo, at $129.99 this is truly a "no brainer" in anybody's book.

This is definitely a first-come, first-served deal with No Limit on quantities. Team this reel up with one of Shimano's new Crucial rods or G. Loomis' new GL2 rods and you will have one absolutely awesome outfit. Better yet, couple this bad boy to a Shimano Cumara or a G. Loomis IMX, GLX, or the new NRX rod and watch all your friends turn green with envy! Oh, by the way, this reel's color matches the new G. Loomis NRX Green Rods almost perfectly!

Like we said, we've only got about 35 of these reels, so if this is something you want or think you know someone who will want one for Christmas PLEASE act now. When they're gone they are truly G-O-N-E with no additional supplies available. Once again, the early bird gets the worm on these babies!

OMG! Just Introduced G. Loomis GREEN NRX Rods Rock and We are the First to Receive Them..............

If you couple the new green rods up with a 2011 or 2012 Shimano Curado they look like they were made for each other. Or, throw a Shimano Core or Chronarch on one and you really have one awesome outfit.

And yes, Virginia, these rods make a fantastic Christmas gift!

Still Time for Overseas Shipments if you Order Now............

Those of you outside of the United States still have plenty of time to order and be assured your order will arrive in plenty of time for Christmas. Typically we see 4 to 8 days delivery time to most of the world via FedEx International and a 6 to 10 days delivery time via US Postal Service International Priority which are the two methods we ship by. FedEx is more expensive but offers tracking and easier customs clearance. FedEx is available for any shipment by request.

We make overseas orders E-A-S-Y and you can place your order on-line using our web site. Just include a note telling us how you want your order shipped and then we will email you a separate invoice for shipping and ship the same day we receive your payment. It's that simple.

Best of all, almost all of our overseas customers save money by buying from us even when shipping charges are included, so don't delay. Place your order soon and we will make sure you have it for the Christmas holidays.

Braggin Board | December 11, 2011

 PICTURES from the BRAGGIN' BOARD
PLEASE Send us some recent pictures!  Kids, Wives, Girlfriends, Mom, or Dad, we love them all! Just attach them to an e-mail with a short explanation to tashby@americanlegacyfishing.com and we'll make sure they are posted on the "Braggin' Board". We will also try to get them in our newsletter.

Great first catch

Grandpa Nick Grimaldi was one proud grandpa when granddaughter Isabella caught her first fish. Nick traveled to Tennessee from New York for Thanksgiving and we're guessing this day-after-Thanksgiving catch was one of the best memories of that visit!

Good looking pike, nice jacket

Here's a picture we really like. Stephan Wolthuis with one good looking pike as well as one good looking G. Loomis jacket! You think that jacket brought Stephan luck?

Big'un

Our friend Bob Daly sends us this great picture of Steve Ryan holding a "big'un" from their Thailand fishing trip. Looks like fun to us!

Nice catch in Louisiana

Terry Bourg shows of a nice catch caught recently in Louisiana off the levee. We're guessing there was some good eating from this catch!

Awesome cobia

Thanks to Craig Stewart we have this picture of Andy Mead holding an amazing 65 lb Cobia (black kingfish) caught recently off Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. It took Andy 40 minutes to land this trophy. Bravo, Andy!

Alligator gar

You know, there are some gorgeous fish in the world and then there are some..., well not so gorgeous fish. Bob Daly's alligator gar from Thailand will most likely fall in the "not so gorgeous" category, but we're guessing this was a fun fight!

G Loomis loyalty

There are loyal G. Loomis customers and then there are really loyal G. Loomis customers. We're thinking Petter Andersson would the be latter!

Awesome lake trout

Talk about a nice fish, how about Ken Jenson's 16+ lb lake trout caught in the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario recently? We think "nice fish" is a big understatement!

Awesome 32lb striper

We're thinking Rex Racer's smile pretty much it all in this picture. And why not, given this 32 lb freshwater striper he caught in California using swimbaits and the new Power Pro Super Slick braid. Way to go Rex!

Beautiful pike

Our friend Laimonas Kuisys holds a beautiful 16 1/2 lb pike caught recently in Ireland. A very inspiring picture with great background scenery for sure!

Perfect timing

Now this is truly a classic shot. Grzegorz Borowski of Poland sends us that great shot of a golden dorado hooked in a stream in Bolivia recently. These fish are world class fighters, and on a fly rod had to have been the thrill of a lifetime. Bravo, Grzegorz!

Double your pleasure

You don't see two 6+ lb smallies every day, but we're thankful that Ken Jensen shared these marvelous fish with all of us. What a trophy to come out of the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario. Better yet, Ken also landed a 6 lb 4 oz smallie as well!

Good day of fishing

Mark Wilson sends us this picture of a nice catch recently from Australia. Now that Mark has a new boat, we'll be expecting lots more pictures like this!

Nice rainbow trout

We always get excited when we receive a picture of a youngster's first fish, so Dan McRorie son Liam's first fish was very much appreciated. Dan says this rainbow trout was released at Liam's request to "let it go, Daddy". You can't start them out any better than that. A big "well done" to both Dan and Liam!

Awesome catch

Here's an example of one of the world's best fighting fish caught by Grzegorz Borowski from Poland while fishing in Bolivia. Fishing for these fish is definitely on our "bucket list"!

Extra large redfin

Talk about a nice fish, how about this huge extra large redfin caught by Dave Clarke in Australia using a G. Loomis SJR781 IMX spinning rod. We can see why Dave is smiling!

Awesome large mouth nannygai

No one here at American Legacy Fishing expects to see a 5.3 lb smallie come out of northern Illinois, but Gary Nesemeier shows us our expectations are way too low. Now if we could just get Gary to tell us where this lake is!

Nice 14lb Steelie!

How's this for one beautiful 14 lb steelie? We have to thank Bob Sutton for sending us this great picture of not just the fish, but the beautiful foliage as well. Thanks, Bob!

Please, folks, send us some of your pictures. We're not after trophies, just pictures of fish you're proud of. It's easy. Just attached them to an email and send them to us at tashby@americanlegacyfishing.com and we'll do our best to get them in the newsletter. Send them in to us!
